Update on Gold Mugs & Telephone Orders

For those not wishing to buy online, we're happy to take orders over the telephone. Currently, we are taking names and telephone numbers for anyone wishing to reserve the gold china mugs (after seeing them used on Celebrity Big Brother 2012). Due to their popularity, if you are not buying online, we need to take a deposit by credit/debit card over the phone with the balance being paid immediately before despatch.

We have sold out of all stock we had, and the delivery in September has all been reserved for pre-orders. The next delivery of gold mugs is expected around the first week of October. As demand is so high, we expect these will all be sent out to customers who reserve them throughout September, so we recommend you place an order for them now to avoid disappointment.

Choosing the Ibride Wall Tray

We love the wall trays we have at Pierrot et Coco from contemporary French company Ibride. We would like one for our own home, but can't decide which one we think is best; Instantly we thought Zhao the Rabbit in Elizabethan dress was the one, but when they arrived we changed allegiance to Cornelius the Monkey. Our customers quickly decided the swan (with three human hands, presumably to keep hold of all those cygnets!) was the favourite and she sold out in no time.

Against a backdrop of midnight blue, slate or olive these would look brilliant and we've already bought the paint. So, now we're torn between Berenice Zebra as she will soon be discontinued by Ibride, making her a little rarer, or Bernardo the Crow with a bumblebee on his shoulder (our little boy's name is Basque for crow and we know he would love it in his bedroom!)

Gold China Mug : Update

An update on the gold china mugs @ Pierrot et Coco. We've had a huge amount of interest in these over the past week as they are being used in Celebrity Big Brother. Although we quickly sold out of all the stock we had in silver and gold, more mugs will be in stock soon and we're taking pre-orders, on a first come, first served basis. They will be despatched to you as soon as we have them on a next-day delivery courier service.

We expect the silver and gold mugs, which come from Denmark, to be available for despatch in 14 working days, but we will keep everyone who orders them informed of the progress, with the option to cancel at any point within this time.

The Midas Touch

Our website's new opening page focuses on all things gold.

We find gold easier to use than silver in the home, working better with old leather, dark wood and paint shades of eau de nil, deep blue and olive.

Somewhat puzzled by the spike in interest, until a customer told us they're being used in the Celebrity Big Brother house...£8 and a delight to drink from!

Part time PR

We’re looking for someone to help on a part-time basis with our in-house PR in Glasgow.

Would suit a student of marketing looking for extra experience, although we are open to anyone who feels they are suitable.

 You would help with the promotion of Pierrot et Coco in the local, national and international press, deal with press enquiries and call-ins, sending out of product samples and high-res images.

 We need someone who is confident and happy to do a lot of speaking on the telephone to magazine and newspaper editors and someone computer literate with good written English.

Birdy Espresso Sets

Our Birdy Espresso sets by 'Magpie' are proving a popular choice. We think they're perfect as a housewarming gift (who would not want these birdies in their new home?!) and especially good for a little wedding gift for a couple who already have all the basics for their home. It's not a traditional haberdashery selection, but various finds we've found and thought were interesting. Many of them are properly vintage - we don't say "vintage" unless it is (and we don't mean 80's or 90's, some of this stuff comes to us with original labels and in boxes from occupied Japan circa 1945). For the creative mind, the uses for these things are endless - from the obvious jewellery to any number of crafts projects, we hope you'll find a place for some of these wonderful pieces.

We've got about 60 items there now, but tons more have been photographed just waiting to be added into the website. Some items we've got in abundance, others are very limited in stock.

As always, we're very happy to answer questions you might have and can advise on the best glues, jumprings and things you might need for the project you have in mind.

An evening of ends

We don't do sales at Pierrot et Coco, but we're pleased to announce this one-off evening event where our customers get the chance to buy some samples, end of lines and slight seconds for a fraction of their retail price.  We don't really know what to expect - the only two shopping nights we've had before have been pretty busy and people queued to get in, so we can only imagine how packed a night like this might get. Our advice; Come early, don't have other bags and things to carry and expect to find some items you're going to love at prices you won't be able to resist!

There are only selected brands and pieces on sale, so don't expect to find the Ortigia fragrance you've been sniffing for the last 6 months, or the Ibride wall trays you want above your fire. But! There are some truly gorgeous pieces to be had and we'll be releasing some images of what to expect daily on Facebook to whet your appetite, and give you some idea as to what to nab first!

We'll be closing an hour early on Thursday 23rd August, at 4pm, to give ourselves a little more time to get prepared, but doors will open at 6pm,  and we'll look forward to seeing you there!
