4711

We’ve decided to stock a fragrance many of you will already be familiar with, 4711. It’s going through a resurgence, partnering with Matthew Williamson for his last catwalk show and selling in all the best London barbershops.

4711 range at Pierrot et Coco

4711 is over 200 years old, so everyone will know someone who has worn it in the past, but it’s one to be re-discovered. We chose it for several reasons; At first we were attracted to the opulent deep turquoise and gold packaging we knew would suit our shop perfectly, then we really liked what we smelled – extremely fresh citrus fruits blended with Rosemary, Lavender and Neroli. It’s also very affordable, making it easy to buy a few pieces from the range to complement each other without it seeming like a major investment.

The best thing about the fragrance is its history. When Truman Capote wrote the book Breakfast at Tiffany’s, he gave Holly Golightly (played by Audrey Hepburn in the film) 4711 as her signature scent as it was the most popular fragrance of the time in Europe for young women, especially in Paris where it outsold Dior and Chanel No 5.

Now it’s considered a unisex scent, with aftershave part of the range. From £3.95, we have a wide range of 4711 products at Pierrot et Coco.
